Islam: Religion of Health and not Submission

The name of any religion represents one of the hallmarks of that religion.

Do you know what is the meaning of the word Islam?

Most people in subordination of false religious missionaries, incorrect translations and interpretation books, consider the meaning of Islam as submission.

But this is a distortion which some religious abusers promoted to enslave their followers.

Let’s take a look at some lexicons.

According to etymologists the word Islam comes from the root salama [sælæmæ] which means health.

Aslama [æslæmæ] means entering in health, Islam means choosing health.

In fact submission which is a more common meaning of Islam, is just an obvious distortion and does not have any Logical or scientific basis.

It is mentioned in verse 85 of Al-e-Emran [æl-i:- i:mræn]:

He who chooses a religion other than health, it will not be accepted from him, and in the everlasting life he will be among the losers.

Or in verse 3 of Maeda [mæi:dæ] it is mentioned:

I have perfected your religion for you and completed my favor to you. I have approved health to be your religion.

From Quran’s perspective, anyone who acts and behaves in order to gain personal, family, society, nature and world health is a Muslim, and anyone who harms herself, her family, friends, society or nature is guilty.

Maybe someone do not consider himself as Muslim, while he is. And another individual names himself Muslim while he is not.

So definitely the one who produces or consumes cigarettes or drugs, is not a Muslim.

The one who is not calm and happy, do not do exercise and is depressed or sad is not a Muslim.

The one who is militant, invades others privacy, and harms others is not Muslim.

Considering correct meaning of Islam, we can recognize a Muslim from his happy, calm, athletic and clean-limbed appearance and in general from his health.

Islam is the religion of health.

Interestingly, the color green is symbol of Islam and the color of Islam’s flag.

Green is a symbol of nature, health and life.

And it exactly agrees with Islam’s meaning, which is choosing health.

But why there are no any Islamic countries as top ranked countries n health rankings.

Why in peace and calmness ranking, most Islamic countries are low ranked?

Why in happiness ranking most Islamic countries are beyond the mean?

Why the keywords of religion of god are not translated correctly?

Who is in the favor of this distortion?

ZAKAT, what is it and what zakat means?

What is zakat?

Are you a Muslim?

Have you ever thought about “zəˈkät” and philosophy of paying it?

According to lexicons “zəˈkät” has two meanings:

Growth and development

Purity and cleanliness

It seems that “ah-luh” has determined “zəˈkät” as a medium for purity and development of aliment among his servants.

In many verses of Quran paying “zəˈkät” in associated with “ṣalāt;”.

Let’s have a look to the beginning of Islam

“zəˈkät” at that time was considered as tax in Islamic state

And for this reason, the necessary and determinative items in economy were introduced as subjects of paying “zəˈkät”

The items like wheat, barely, dates, grapes, gold and silver, cow, sheep and camel were the ones that had key roles in economy of peninsula therefore “zəˈkät” were obligatory for them.

The question is that:

If rice or corn were the common food of people at the time of prophet and if the commercial items were elephant, banana, oil and … , what items would be included in “zəˈkät”?

Also by considering the areas that “zəˈkät” should be spent for, we will find out the importance of it in Islam:

According to Quran, “zəˈkät” should be paid to:

the poor

the misery

people who collect “zəˈkät”

create affection in hearts

make slaves free

debtors

the sake of Allah

The needy wayfarers

If all of these items are observed, peace, security and health will be established in whole society.

In fact “zəˈkät” is a kind of income tax in Islamic society that is allocated for social justice.

And this is exactly what we expect from the meaning of the word of Islam. The literal meaning of The word “Islam” is entering to the health, and “zəˈkät” is an assurance for the health of society

In currant time and even at the time of prophet, rulers of Islamic states had the responsibility to determine the areas that “zəˈkät” money should be spent for.

In all today’s governments:

There are some organizations devoted to the problems of poor, miseries, debtors, and needy wayfarers

There are many organizations devoted for cultural affairs, and these organizations are intended to create affection among people and to promote god’s religion.

And obviously, the people involved in collecting tax are paid by government

In other words, the paid tax in today’s world, covers all expenditures that “zəˈkät” money should cover.

Some important questions…

According to these facts in today’s world, should we still believe that “zəˈkät” is obligatory for a limited set of items? The items that are of low importance in current economy! Or is “zəˈkät” obligatory for any profit resulted from economic activity?

With regard to high income of Islamic countries, is it fair to in addition to all taxes, receive some money from a poor shepherd or farmer as “zəˈkät”, and on the other hand large companies have huge amount of benefits?

Considering the fact that in today’s societies, people pay tax to the governments, is it still obligatory to assign a separate sum of money as “zəˈkät”?

In the early beginning of the Islam, paying Zakat was mandatory for all Muslims, and in several verses in our holy book, Quran, this has been mentioned. In this film, we have reviewed the philosophy of paying Zakat at the time of Profit Mohammad (peace with him) and our today’s life, then we have offered a correct and clear definition of Zakat based on the religious and rational criteria.

Meaning of Samad (صمد) in Quran

Meaning of Samad (صمد) in Quran

Etymology

The root “Samad” or “صمد” has two meanings: the first is “intention” and the next is a solid object, which is completely saturated, where there is no empty space in it, and has no disorder or harm in itself.

In fact, the first meaning of “Samad” is intending with trust. When it is said: “Samada” or “صَمَدَ …. “ (as a verb: intend) in paradigm of “Nasara” or “نَصَرَ،نصیر” (as a verb: help) it means the person who is intending something, he has trusted somebody.

Imam Sajad (the blessing of God upon him) says: Samad is the One who if He wants to create something just says “Be” then “It is”.

Meaning

God’s independancy deduces from the second meaning of Samad, the solid thing. A solid object is ultimately perfect and it has no need of another thing to make it more perfect. Thus, it is free from every other things.

The true reality stands behind the “intention”. The first “Al” or “ال” in “Al-Samad” or “الصمد” is the restriction letter.

Samad means independent because He intends the universe then the universe exists: انما امره اذا اراد شیا ان یقول له کن فیکون- “Surely when He intends a thing and says “Be”, then the thing exists.” In Surah Yasin, verse 82. In other words, there is no distance between His will and the happening of His intention. Imam Sajjad (blessing of God upon Him) says: “ ‘صمد’ is One who wants to create a being, just says: “Be!” it comes into being in the universe.” Thus His Being is not dependent to other beings which mean “independency”, since dependency causes need. In fact, man and universe are God’s “intention”, consequently they are not God, and at the same time they are not separated from Him either. Read more about the concept of “Intention” in [1].

The body that we see of ourselves is a virtual image that is generated from the defect of our perceptual channels and we are not able to perceive the real truth of human [2].

Real truth of human is not God, but it is not separate from God, either. As it is said in the verse of “لم یلد و لم یولد” “He neither is produced or issued from something nor produces nor issues something.”

Meaning of Allah (الله)

Meaning of Allah (الله)

Etymology

Three roots have been enumerated [1] for “الله”:

1. “اله” means an entity that existence of other things depends on it. For example when a person stands in front of a mirror his image entirely depends on the person being reflected in it. In fact the person is “اله” of his image. So this it is evident from this that in the absence of the person, there would be no image in the mirror.

2. derived from “وله” meaning “being astonished” and that its hamza is the substitute of “واو”.

3. Derived from “اله” which means “reliance to” as well as “dread from”. It means that people escape toward Him (The Almighty).

Meaning

Allah is One regarding whom all perceptions are being amazed by comprehending His Divine Essence [1].

Ahad (احد) Translation and meaning

Ahad (احد)

Etymology

In fact it is “وحد” which its “و” was changed into “أ” because of alleviation.

Meaning

Ahad (احد) is sometimes used as a noun (as:احد عشر ) and sometimes is used as adjective. As an adjective it means “uncountable”. Ahad is not synonym of “واحد”. Wherever we say something is “واحد”, it would simply, imply that it does not have the second and third, and so on… . In fact, the word Vahed (واحد) is used for someone or something which is countable. Whereas, Ahad as an adjective, is used for someone or something which is uncountable.

Ahad refers to the Being who is uncountable, unique, and nonpoint. Because God is not in time-space. God is the creator of time and space. Counting only is possible in time-space, where one can be distinguished from another by time or space difference. These concepts are not applicable to God who is not in time-space [1].
